Black Men have spoken and it is awesome!! #BlackMen 2024! By: Rico Rivers

Allegedly, 17% of black men voted for Trump this time around. Up from 6% in 2016. Even if Trump does not win re election, a political awakening has occurred in Black male voters. There is a growing section of black men in America who have grown tired of being taken for granted by the Democratic Party. Not only did black men vote for Trump, many also opted to vote for a third party candidate during this election season.

What this means is locally, black men will begin using their voting power to shift the direction of local elections in cities across America where Democrats have a tight grip on black voters. I predict that black men will start encouraging other black men to form political PAC groups in their respective cities. I predict that the Democratic party will change the way it has addressed the black community up until this election season. Meaning, they will actually start addressing black men and black men's issues.

Finally, I want to say this to the liberal left loving and worshipping Democratic black women and black men. Attacking the straight black men who have finally woken up from the hypnosis of the Democratic party and who have decided to pay attention to the issues that actually matter to them is a waist of time. YOU DON'T OWN Black men, nor Black Men's voting choices. Meaning, you can't tell grown ass men WTF to do!! Blaming them if Trump wins his bid for re election is actually a compliment and a true testament of what black men can do politically once motivated. I look forward to seeing more political growth on the part of black men in this country, hopefully as Independent voters and as Independent political candidates but with a conservative twist.

Dear, GSU President Search Committee.

I sure hope that this time an actual search for Grambling’s next President will be conducted unlike seven years ago. The next President does not have to be a Grambling graduate. They already tried that. However, if should happen to be a Grambling graduate, make sure they understand and actually promote HBCU/Black culture and Black consciousness at Grambling State university on a daily basis.  For the next President, would it be possible to select a person with a Ph.D, who has years of experience in working at a university especially a HBCU as a Professor, a VP for Student Affairs, VP for Academic Academic Enhancement, VP and Provost, a Dean of students or a President of a university, especially a HBCU?
